Canister is the most used type of vacuum cleaners. They have the motor and dust collector (using a bag or bagless) in a unit usually mounted on wheels, which is connected to the vacuum head by a flexible hose. The user can attach different heads
for different tasks, and maneuverability. Many models allow
carrying different accessories, such as
brushes, on the unit.
Vacuums of this type are generally better at deep-cleaning carpets—particularly the bagged models.
Most are relatively easy to store because they stand up on their own. This makes them more versatile, giving the advantage of being able to quickly take, clean, and put back, which is why they are more popular in commercial use.
